Clint Schumacher focuses his litigation practice on eminent domain and government taking litigation and counseling, energy-related litigation, accounting malpractice defense, and other complex commercial litigation and arbitration. Clint also represents accounting firms or accountants who find themselves before courts, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), or the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA).
Clint continually seeks to build on his extensive litigation experience by studying and practicing the art of effective advocacy, consulting with the nation’s leading trial and jury consultants, and listening to stories of past jurors about their experiences at the courthouse. This dedication to excellence led to Clint being named as one of the “Best Lawyers Under 40” by Texas Lawyer magazine in 2011.
He is a forceful advocate for his clients when the government’s power of eminent domain or condemnation threatens their property. He has deep and varied experience in representing clients who need advice and counsel when private property is taken for public use. Clint’s varied eminent domain client list includes Fortune 500 companies; Wall Street investment firms; individual investors, developers, and property owners; a regional tollway authority; and multi-national and local pipeline companies.
Clint has experience in working with energy companies, both large and small, in finding ways to resolve their disputes. In his accounting practice, he has significant experience in defense of accountants and accounting firms in litigation, in matters involving the SEC and before the TSBPA. He also assists clients in resolving complex matters in a number of different industries and situations that require intensity of effort, strategic vision, and determined focus.
Additionally, Clint is a popular speaker on the topic of eminent domain. He is often called upon to speak on the subject to industry professionals, other lawyers and law students around the country.
