The second presentation is entitled "The Legal Aspects Of Social Media." This presentation will discuss how it seems that everyone in the world today is involved in some form of social media. Even the corporate world, including the extended warranty and service contract industries, has embraced social media by establishing online identities to promote products and services to an audience all too willing to share their favorites with their personal networks. In the home, on the go, and in the office, social media has become a force to be reckoned with that shows little signs of slowing. But, what are the legal ramifications of our employers and employees communicating with the client base through social media? The potential legal issues are substantial and must be addressed in order to mitigate potential risks. Key areas of law such as litigation and electronic discovery, privacy, data security breach, and non-disclosure agreements and trade secrets are just some of the potential landmines facing companies using social media as a part of their communication and marketing strategies.
