
Alan Waldrop is a partner in the Firm's Austin office representing clients in all types of litigation as well as public law and entertainment law matters. Mr. Waldrop returned to the Firm in 2010 after serving as Justice on the Third Court of Appeals in Austin from 2005-2010. He was appointed to the Third Court of Appeals by the Governor in August 2005 and elected to a six-year term which would have ended in 2012.
In his practice, he has experience with all types of litigation involving financial institutions including lender liability, loan disputes, UCC issues, foreclosure disputes, and collection issues. He has represented clients in the defense of class action litigation as well as mass actions involving multiple plaintiffs. Mr. Waldrop has experience in a full range of litigation involving insurance issues including defense of claims against the company of litigation involving insurance issues including defense of claims against the company as well as the defense of the insured. Also, he has worked with clients on products liability defense and construction litigation from the perspective of both the plaintiff and the defendant.
In addition to practicing civil litigation, public law and entertainment law, Mr. Waldrop has served as a Lecturer and Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy at the University of Texas School of Law from 1993-2000. He also currently serves as a member of the Texas State Securities Commission Board, a position to which he was appointed by Governor Perry in 2011.
