Megan Hodapp’s practice is focused on labor and employment law and litigation. Ms. Hodapp represents and counsels employers on a wide variety of employment-related issues, including discrimination, harassment, defamation and retaliation claims, covenant not to compete and trade secret issues, claims for injunctive relief, wage and hour law issues under the Fair Labor Standards Act (“FLSA”), labor relations and union contract negotiation issues under the National Labor Relations Act (“NRLA”), reductions in force and the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (“WARN Act”), and employee leave issues under the Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”), Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), and other state and federal laws. Ms. Hodapp also assists clients across the U.S. in drafting and/or revising their employment policies and handbooks; drafting offer letters, employment agreements, and non-competition agreements; and drafting and implementing separation and/or release agreements—all in compliance with the various state and federal laws which may apply to the client’s business location and operations.
Ms. Hodapp has experience representing clients in state and federal courts in several states; in arbitration and mediation proceedings; and in matters before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”), U.S. Department of Labor, and National Labor Relations Board. With her roots in journalism, Ms. Hodapp particularly enjoys assisting clients with internal investigations, document review matters, and conducting witness interviews and hard-hitting depositions, as well as drafting compelling pleadings for those clients. Ms. Hodapp also donates her time to the Houston community, performing pro bono legal services through the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program.
