
Ann Taylor is the Co-Chair of Locke Lord’s Aviation Practice Group and has over 18 years experience in complex aviation-related litigations in state and federal courts across the United States. In particular, Ms. Taylor defends aviation suppliers and manufacturers, air carriers, security providers and aircraft leasing companies against various allegations including wrongful death, product defects, breach of warranty, and negligence. Ms. Taylor has extensive experience in matters relating to aviation insurance, including coverage for aviation products, construction wrap-up, environmental and toxic tort. Ms. Taylor leads all aspects of these litigations, including fact and expert discovery, dispositive motions and arguments before courts. Her experience also includes trials with proven results for her clients.

Representative Experience
- Representing the company that conducted pre-board passenger screening for American Airlines Flight 11 in consolidated litigation in federal court in New York concerning the loss of life and loss of property arising out of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001;
- Representing insurers of a satellite manufacturer in declaratory judgment actions concerning whether coverage can be afforded for failed satellite series;
- Representing insurers of a government contractor in multiple litigations concerning 2,018 chemical exposure claims allegedly from U.S. aerial drug eradication efforts in Colombia;
- Represented airframe part and engine provider in February 16, 2000 crash of Emery 17, a DC-8, at Rancho Cordova, California in litigations in Ohio, Texas and California where dismissals were secured in Ohio and Texas and favorable settlement for remaining claims;
- Represented aviation insurers of major program against Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner in matters involving direct payment of claims by reinsurers when coverage was fronted by an insolvent insurer in which a favorable trial decision was obtained and subsequently defended on appeal;
- Represented insurers in environmental coverage dispute in California against domestic air carrier seeking over $750 million in which a favorable settlement was reached;
- Represented insurers in environmental coverage dispute in New Jersey against aviation manufacturer seeking over $30 million in which a favorable settlement was reached on weight of directed verdict motion after close of manufacturer’s case-in-chief at trial; and
- Represented insurers in environmental coverage dispute against newspaper seeking over $70 million in which a defense verdict was obtained at trial in Illinois and successfully defended on appeal.
