Roberta Hastreiter has considerable experience in United States and international chemical, biotechnology and mechanical patent application preparation and prosecution, including the filing and prosecution of international patent applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty. She has successfully procured numerous U.S. and foreign patents over the course of her career. She also has experience in analyzing patentability, infringement, freedom-to-operate, validity and false marking issues, and in the preparation of related opinions, in agreement preparation (confidentiality, consulting, research, clinical, license and other agreements), and in counseling clients in intellectual property matters.
Roberta is a former in-house patent attorney for both Abbott Laboratories and G.D. Searle & Co. She was awarded an Abbott Laboratories' Presidential Award in 1989 for a high level of achievement, and was presented with a certificate of recognition from G.D. Searle & Co. in 1995.
Roberta is an active member of the Roswell/Alpharetta Chapter of the National Charity League, Inc., a national philanthropic organization. She will begin her new role as the Vice President of Philanthropy, effective June 1, 2006. Roberta previously served as a liaison between this organization and the North Fulton Community Charities. She also performs volunteer services on a regular basis with a wide variety of philanthropies in the Atlanta area, including Ronald McDonald House and the American Red Cross.
