Abby Moore is a partner in the business litigation and dispute resolution practice group of Locke Lord LLP. Ms. Moore’s practice provides high-quality legal representation and services to clients involved in commercial litigation and arbitration in a broad range of industries, and in particular, the banking, financial institutions, and consumer finance industry, the business technology and telecommunications industry, and the insurance industry. Ms. Moore also has a diverse general commercial litigation practice with over a decade of experience representing clients in various legal disputes in a broad range of other industries, including the energy, food service, retail manufacturing and sales, medical device manufacturing, health care management, and transportation services industries, among others. Ms. Moore also represents and advises clients with respect to the Freedom of Information Act and the Texas Public Information Act.
Additionally, Ms. Moore has served as a member of Locke Lord LLP’s local diversity committee in Dallas, which assists and supports the Firm’s national diversity efforts and programs.
Ms. Moore is a member of the Firm’s Banking and Financial Institutions Litigation and Consumer Finance Practice groups, and represents banks, mortgage lenders/servicers, and other lenders, loan servicers, and financial institutions in individual and class action litigation involving various claims under state and federal law, including claims under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and state consumer protection and unfair or deceptive business practice statutes, such as the Texas Debt Collection Act and the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, among others.
Ms. Moore is also a member of the Firm’s Business Technology and Media and Telecommunications practice groups, and represents telecommunications clients, software manufacturing and solution providers, and other business technology clients in litigation involving various claims under state and federal law. The claims in such disputes are varied and diverse, and have included unlawful competition and business practices, federal common law trademark infringement, false advertising, federal Lanham Act claims, theft of trade secrets, breach of contract, zoning disputes, land use disputes, leasing disputes, tortious interference with business relationships, nuisance, statutory claims under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), and claims and issues of preemption related to the federal Telecommunications Act of 1996, among others.
Ms. Moore is a member of the Firm’s Insurance, Insurance: Commercial Litigation, and Insurance Litigation and Counseling practice groups. Ms. Moore represents and advises insurance carriers and policyholders in insurance coverage matters and disputes involving alleged breach of contract, common law bad faith insurance practices, violations of the Texas Insurance Code, and violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. Ms. Moore’s insurance experience in these matters includes cases in both state and federal court, and involves a wide variety of policies, including commercial general liability (CGL) policies, director and officer (D&O) policies (including fiduciary liability policies and executive and organization liability policies), property and casualty policies, life insurance policies, entertainment/media policies, and title policies, among others.
Ms. Moore also regularly represents clients in a broad range of other general commercial litigation and arbitration disputes.
