
Robert Goethals concentrates on patent litigation in the federal courts and the International Trade Commission and patent prosecution before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Goethals’ patent litigation and prosecution experience covers a wide range of technologies, including medical devices (coronary catheters and stents), mechanical devices (automotive systems, personal watercraft, printing systems), electro-mechanical devices (automated stage lighting, lens generating machines), chemical products (titanium dioxide pigments, zeolite cracking catalysts), electronic devices (semiconductor chips and fabrication systems) and consumer products.
In addition, Mr. Goethals has extensive experience rendering opinions directed to patent infringement, validity and enforceability matters, as well as patent-related antitrust matters. His practice also involves counseling clients with regard to the strategic development and management of their global intellectual property portfolios.
