Karen Palmersheim will be speaking at the Los Angeles Bar Association's Managed Care in California: Current Battles and Future Solutions Meeting on a topic entitled: "Developing Trends in Managed Care Litigation; Perspectives from Health Plan and Provider Counsel."
This discussion will focus on current and developing issues in managed care litigation from both the provider and plan perspectives, including recent litigation involving reimbursement disputes, standards for calculating reasonable and customary payments to non-contracted providers, ERISA litigation, and the enforceability of plan provisions disclaiming assignments of benefits. Health plans and providers will benefit from this balanced session, presented by two seasoned litigators, discussing some of the most pressing managed care issues facing the healthcare industry today.
