Locke Lord Speakers Bill Swanstrom

Bill Swanstrom will serve as a panelist during the Water Footprint Issues in Shale Gas Production web conference. This webinar will bring together industry and regulatory experts to discuss what “water footprint” issues must be resolved if shale gas is to reach its full potential. Join the webinar to hear dialogs on the following topics:

  • How does one define the “water footprint” of a shale gas well or field?
  • What are the quality standards for frack water sent downhole and then recovered? How good must it be going down and how bad might it be coming out?
  • Was the developmental experience in the Barnett Shale a fair teacher for what should be expected in other shale gas plays in terms of water volumes and disposal issues? Or is every play a new experience?
  • What are the factors that lead to choices among “frack water” disposal methods, such as injection wells or surface water treatment?
  • Is the best regulatory approach state-by-state rather than federal? If so what is happening in shale gas states (Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, New York, others) with regard to water-use regulations?
  • What are some success stories in solving the “water footprint” issue for individual shale gas fields?
